Dan is a Seattle-based photographer specializing in environmental and studio portraiture. He’s worked with a variety of companies and publications, including high-profile folks for Esquire, benevolent tech for Bloomberg Businessweek, and dystopian tech for The Atlantic. His work has been recognized by Communication Arts and nominated for the Photo District News 30. Before returning to photography full-time in 2022, he spent eight years as an advertising art director working on campaigns that brought home shiny awards like gold lions, pencils, and cubes. But the siren call of commercial and editorial photography proved too strong, and he returned to photography and his home state of Washington. He considers himself lucky to have had the opportunity to live in Atlanta, Bangkok (University), Berkeley, Boulder, and New York City before settling back in the Pacific Northwest. When he's not behind the camera or computer, you can find Dan on dog walks, sailing Olympic dinghies, playing soccer, and writing his bio in the third person.
